Starting from the year 2007, the Board of the National Club decided to award the title "Leonberger of the year" according to the sum result of all Shows during the year the dog took part in, and approved the statute about the title "Leonberger of the year".
The winners of the competition "Leonberger of the year" will be awarded at National Club Show every year.

In February 2008 the book by G. Perosino "Leonberger" was published in Russian. G. Perosino - the breeder and judge, well known all around the world, the founder and President Emeritus of Italian Leonberger Club. His book is a detailed commentary to the breed standard with pictures and photographs. This is a bedside book for all who work with this breed or simply love it. This book is the first, and so far the only, monograph about this wonderful breed in Russian.
